Wayne WagnerWilliam “Wayne” Wagner

December 30, 2024

The lathe is quiet and the last sparks from the welder have flown, as God called Wayne and requested he come home…

William “Wayne” Wagner of Eddy’s Mills passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 30th, 2024, at University Hospital in London at the age of 64.

Wayne will be forever missed by his loving and devoted family including his wife Kathy (nee Carpenter); his children Kalyn (Curt) Veenstra and Nathan (Kaylyn) Wagner; his stepchildren Amy (Tash) Booth, Jonathan (Katrina) Booth and Nicholas Booth; his grandchildren Cohen Veenstra, Kendall Veenstra, Maxwell Calero, William Wagner, and Adah Booth; his siblings Connie (Ross) McFadden and Lee Wagner; his in-laws Marjorie Watterworth, Diane (Harold) Hull, Lorraine Russell and Karen (Wayne) Crosby; and his many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Bill (2001) and Mary (nee Goslin) (1985) Wagner and brother and sister in-laws Joe Watterworth (1971), Patrick Russell (2012) and Russell (2015) and Orial (2024) Carpenter.

Taking the business over in 2001, Wayne was the sole owner-operator of Eddy’s Mills Machine Shop. He followed in the footsteps of his father Bill and his uncle Cal who started the business in 1966. Wayne had an uncanny knack for fixing what others said couldn’t be fixed. Sometimes it took brute strength and a little know-how and other times it took a lot of thought and a bit of stubbornness, but he always did what had to be done to complete the job and took pride in his work.

Cremation has taken place, and a private service will be held. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, January 11th from 1:30-4:30 pm at the Oil Springs Youth Centre.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dawn-Euphemia Fire Department, where Wayne worked for 16 years as a volunteer firefighter.
