VANDERHULST, Abel – It is with much sadness that the family of Abel Vanderhulst of Petrolia announce his passing on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Bluewater Health – C.E.E. Site, Petrolia at the age of 93. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Elisabeth (Reintjes). Dear father of Yvonne Vanderhulst, Richard Vanderhulst (Janet), Monique DesChenes (John) and Douglas Vanderhulst (Lisa). Opa of Eric Vanderhulst (Ellen), Melissa George (Bryan), Rachelle Hill (Nathan) and Craig Vanderhulst (Tiffany). Great-opa to Benjamin Vanderhulst. Dear brother of Henk Vanderhulst (Sia). Remembered by several nieces and nephews. Abel retired from Imperial Oil 30 years ago after 26 years of employment. Abel has and made many friends and his laughter could fill a room. He will be sadly missed. A private family service will take place at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donation to C.E.E. Hospital Foundation.

My deepest sympathy Monique and John and your entire family on the passing of your Father. I remember my brother Ron talking of him fondly. Losing a father is a difficult part of our lives to deal with but in time, the pain does lessen. He will always be in your thoughts and in your heart.

Hello Yvonne- I was so sorry to read about your father’s passing in the newspaper today. I have fond memories of you and your family. It has been a long time since we spent time together. Perhaps we can reconnect and learn about each other’s lives. My thoughts are with you at this time.
