20241229 214822553 iOSTHOMAS, William Lewis (Bill) – passed away suddenly at the Victoria Hospital, London on December 28, 2024. Born on July 26, 1935 on the family farm in Dawn Township. Bill Devoted his life to hard work, family and his true passion – farming. Bill was the beloved husband of 66 years to Evelyn (Nee Wright). Proud father of Debbie (Mike) VanDaele and Brenda (Thom) McLean. Cherished grandfather of Dane VanDaele, Riley VanDaele (Kristyn Saunders) and Alexis McLean. Survived by his sister in law Colleen (the late Ted Thomas), sister Doris Cameron (the late Ross), Wes (Gloria) Thomas and sister in law Freida Alderman (the late Bob). He found peace and purpose in the fields, and his legacy lives on in the land he so deeply loved.

Funeral Details
A private family service took place at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPELS, Interment will be held at Oil Springs Cemetery.

  6. Shelley and I were shocked to hear of Bill’s sudden passing. To the entire. Thomas family, our sincere condolences. Eve, I never would have dreamed that the chat we had a couple of weeks ago would be the last I would have with Bill. I am still trying to process that!
    Another of Bill’s passions aside from the obvious of family and farming was hunting. For Bill it was not the hunt that mattered but the fellowship. Lots of stories and lots of laughs! I for one will miss that.
    He will be missed.

    So sorry for your loss, certainly was a shock for me when my friend Gene Ann Dunlop told me about Bill. Looked for you guys today, but then it was a crappy day and a good day to stay home.
