SHARP, Francis “Lorene” – Passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia in her 95th year. Survived by her son Brian Sharp (Julie), Daughter Joanne Marriott (Jim). Lorene left behind Grandchildren Kelly, SueAnne, Kelso, and Nolan. She also left behind great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Lorene was predeceased by her husband Currie, Son Dennis, Daughter Bonnie Wilson, Son-in-Law Richard Wilson, Grandchildren Alisa and Mark and Great grandchild Andrew. Lorene was an active member of the Moore Agricultural Society for over 50 years. She made history when she was elected as the first woman President of the fair board.
A celebration of life will be held at the Brigden Fair Grounds Exhibition Hall on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:30. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, those who wish to attend must wear a mask and maintain social distancing. A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm and will be streamed online by clicking the link https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87264807192. Meeting ID: 872 6480 7192. A private family graveside was be held at Shetland Cemetery.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Brigden United Church or Moore Agricultural Society – Homecraft Division (cheques mailed to the funeral home).

She was strict, play by the rules lady, and I admired her dedication to the community. She had a smile when working along side of her even though it was often hard to keep up!     I was sorry to hear that my friend Lorene has passed away. She has been on my mind all these past months and i was wishing that I could visit with her.My last visit was February,2020 just before covid came..
    Lorene so enjoyed working at the Brigden Fairgrounds and she was instrumental in many of the improvements and especially in the catering that we have tried to carry on with. She was a hard worker, a great cook,served as President of MAS, and served as Secretary-Treasurer of Homecraft for many years.
    When Lorene had to give up her duties at the fairgrounds because of her health, she always said ” I wish i could still be there”
    I know that Lorene is at peace now. She has been ready to meet her heavenly Father and her loved ones for some time.
    “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”

  13. My condolences Joanne, Brian and Nolan and the Sharp family. Many fun filled, happy hours were spent Sundays playing euchre and on bus trips with Mary and Yvonne. Good friend, “rest in peace”.

  24. We were so very sad to hear of the loss of Lorene. She was certainly one of the great ones! I remember her working at the fairgrounds with my mother-in-law Joan Muller. Lorene was a no nonsense lady with such a big heart and love for the community. She always offered me up a smile and I have nothing but admiration for her. She was a fine lady!   26. So sorry to hear of the passing of Lorene. I remember her as my Explorer leader at Calvary United Church, Moore Agricultural Society and Brigden United Church. She was a wonderful person

  27. Lorene was a wonderful friend when I was working with her at the Brigden Fair / Moore Agricultural Society. We had great fun in the kitchen. She shared he butter tart recipe and brought me back a much loved bagpipe charm from Scotland. She was a hard working lady. She will be missed.
