PETTIT, Stewart York, Age 94, of Sarnia, formerly of Brigden Area passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday July 21, 2009 at Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia. Beloved husband of the late Ruby Blanche (Gorton) Pettit (July 3, 2009) for 75 years. Loving father of late Nancy Jane (2008) (Jack) Brown, Brigden; Ross (Kathy) Pettit, Corunna; Wayne (Gail) Pettit, Sarnia. Cherished grandfather of Gary (Nancy) Brown, Joanne (Gord) VanDoorn, Jim (Kathy) Brown, Chris (Stacey) Brown, Colleen (Mike) Lapier, Michael (Leneath) Pettit, Kelly (Bridey) Pettit, Shane (Lenora) Banfield, and the late Terri and Aaron Pettit. Dearly missed by several great-grandchildren. Survived by Dorothy Pettit and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Jane (Shaw) Pettit, brothers Delmar, Joel, Freeman (Margaret Roane), Charles, Claude (late Nylene), Francis and sisters Katie (Bill) Arnold, Florence (Melvin) Traxler. Stewart was a 64 year member of Leopold Lodge #397 Brigden.
VISITATION AND FUNERAL SERVICE
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME BRIGDEN on Friday July 24, 2009 from 1:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00pm. Rev. Sandra Fogarty officiating. Interment Black Creek Cemetery.
