PagePicturePAGE, Catherine “Joyce” – Age 90, of Petrolia formally of Brigden, passed away at Fiddick’s Nursing Home, Petrolia on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Beloved wife of  Ralph Arnold (1974) and John Page (1994). Loving mother of Janet (Brian) Edgar, David (Jill) Arnold and Carol (Maurice) Lebert. Special grandmother to Allison (Jessica) Edgar, James (Vanessa) Edgar, Joy (Bryan) Carter, and Philip Lebert. Special great grandmother of Garrett, Erik, Savannah, Lylah and Lincoln. Stepmother of Jim (Shelley) Page and Martha (Colin) Brownlee and  their families of British Columbia. Survived by sister Patricia Barnier and sister -in- law Helen McCoy. Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Katie McCoy, sister Margaret Shortt, brothers Jack and Larry McCoy, brothers-in-law Mike Shortt and Richard Barnier, sister -in-law Diane McCoy. Joyce was loved by many nieces, nephews and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. Mom was born in Detroit MI but resided in Brigden her entire life.  Despite her birthplace, Mom was always a Canadian proud of her Scottish and Irish heritage.  She attended school in Brigden and Petrolia, and was a graduate of Chatham Public General Hospital Nursing class of 1952.  She was a lifelong faithful member of Brigden United Church,  a community supporter and volunteer. Mom enjoyed travel and was fortunate to make many trips across Canada, the US, and Europe. For several years she enjoyed winters in Arizona and summers in British Columbia. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Fiddick’s Nursing Home for the care and kindness consistently shown to Mom and our family.

Visitation
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Friday January 28. Due to Covid-19 restriction, those who wish to attend must wear a mask and RSVP with a time to attend the visitation at https://signup.com/go/pyhtPNW.

Funeral Service
A private family funeral service will take place at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Saturday January 29. Friends and family can join us on Zoom at 2pm. https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86974477245

  28. Although I never spent a lot of time with Joyce, I was lucky enough to experience our river cruise a few years ago with her, my husband Gene Smith and Paul Phillips. I found out how much she loved to walk and experience new places and things and enjoy life. She was special.

    Reading over these 30+ condolences I find the common denominator – a wonderful, lovely, loving woman, cherished by so many and remembered so fondly by all that knew her. How perfect a description. It was very easy to love her as we did immediately when she and John came to spend that first summer with us, right after they married. We got to know your family through stories and pictures and that continued til the end. She will always have a huge and permanent place in our hearts and memories.
    So very sorry a woman of Joyces caliber had to leave this earth. I will miss her terribly.

  40. Joyce was a wonderful lady. She loved to chat, and always made everyone feel welcome. We all loved her! She would always ask me how grandma was, and how ironic it is that they passed away on the same day, and will be at the same funeral home on the same days. That is true friendship.
