METCALF picMETCALF, Lois Jean (nee Johnston) – of Brigden, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Bluewater Health – C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia at the age of 85. Raised in Inwood, moved to Brigden with husband of 66 years, Percival Joseph Metcalf. Loving mother of Cathy (Bruce) Stephens, Patty Turner, Beth (late Sam) McGill, Ronald (Cheryl) Metcalf. Special grandma to 16 cherished grandchildren and loved all her great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Basil and Bessie Johnston of Inwood, parents in-law Wesley and Katherine Metcalf of Brigden, brother Ralph (Marilyn) (Ann) Johnston. Survived by sister-in-law June (late Ladd) Trachtulec, brother-in-law Ray (Jean) Metcalf and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Hijazi and staff at C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia and past care of Dr. Wm. (Billy) O’Mahony of Corunna.

A private family graveside service will be held at Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia.

Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice.

    We are so very so to just hear of Lois’s passing. It is so difficult to face this chapter in our lives, you are in our thoughts and prayers.     So very sorry to hear that Lois has passed.
    I have many good memories of you and Lois working in the dining room at the fairgrounds for so many dinners.
    Also of Lois and Cathy in the front office at Fair time helping Beth out as well as Patty cleaning the hall.
    Those were good times. Lois will be missed around Brigden.

I still remember Lois teaching piano lessons over 60 years ago, I was not a good student but Lois was great. Keep your memories close at this difficult time.
