image0 20McKEEGAN, Melvin Garnet – Passed away peacefully in his home, at the age of 95, on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Beloved husband for 57 years to the late Florence Mary Jane (Campbell) McKeegan (2008). Special friend for 11 years of the late Evelyn Ridley (2021).  Loving father of Bruce McKeegan and Lori Dutot of Wallaceburg, Keith and Alyce McKeegan of Sombra, Darlene and Henry Kraayenbrink of Port Lambton, Marie and Kevin Webster of Oil City. Predeceased by his parents John and Myrtle (Scott) McKeegan. Brother to the late Jean (Bob) Hazzard, Dorothy (George) Ross, Frank McKeegan and Bill (Doreen surviving) McKeegan. Cherished grandfather of Ashley (Matt) Montague, Trevis McKeegan, Sarah (Robert) Atkinson, Kyle McKeegan, Mason (Brianne) Kraayenbrink, Mitchell (Jocelyn) Kraayenbrink, Amelia (Dalton) Authier, Katrina (Chadd) Murphy, Ashley (Nicholas) Matlovich, Aaron (Svenja) Webster, Aric (Miranda) Webster, Keegan Webster (Ashleigh Scott) and Adaleah (Nathan) Lorantfy. Proud and loving great-grandfather of Meghann, Dalton, Tanner, Nicholas, Araya, Connor, Nolan, Owen, George, Angus, Sloan, Emmett, Quinn, Cameron, Grace, Vivianne, Vera, Vaughn, Vienna, Finnick, Henrik, Anderson, Aurora, Cyrus and Pearl. Great-great-grandfather of Nolah. Melvin was born and raised in Wilkesport Ontario. He was very dedicated, loyal and hard-working his entire life. At a young age of 14 his farming career began which continued to flourish and evolve his entire life. In addition, he started his own trucking company McKeegan Trucking Limited which has been in business for over 55 years. Furthermore, he was a volunteer firefighter at the Wilkesport Station for 22 years, and an active member of the Wilkesport snow mobile club for many years. He loved old time fiddle music and square dancing. Melvin enjoyed attending jamborees, plowing matches and the Brigden Fair. He was a very outgoing, active member of his community who loved to socialize and tell stories. In his later years, he put many miles on his black Dodge Ram truck driving all over the country side and attending his favourite local restaurants with his family and friends.

VISITATION
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME BRIGDEN on Friday February 2, 2024 from 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm.

FUNERAL
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 12pm. Kevin McGlade to officiate. Interment in Black Creek Cemetery to follow.

  26. We were very sadden by the news of our friend Mel’s passing. We had a lot of fun times together camping at Blyth and going to dances at Brigden at the Sunday Jamborees.
