  6. Laurie, Lisa & families,
My deepest condolences for your loss.
I visited your Dad about a month ago. Home for Mom’s Celebration of Life and burial of her ashes at Bear Creek. I had not seen him since Mom’s 90th birthday. She was so happy with the shawl, just what she needed, how did they know.
He was surprised and happy to see me. Reminisced about life and us growing up across from your family. How he got his first bicycle for a paper route and the kindness and generosity that was shown to him. That set the tone for him paying forward throughout his life.
He talked about the fire and lost memories. How some of Albert’s things survived! He opened some the photo albums and pointed out all of you and your families. And was so proud of all of you.
I mentioned one memory I have of him, was he always whistling! He said that Lorraine had mentioned, not long before he lost her, that he didn’t whistle anymore and that he should start again. His smile radiated.
He came with me to the door when I left and was heading for supper. The visit was the best memory for me to add to mine.
From my family to yours, our deepest sympathy.
    Ric & Colleen Scott, Calgary
