GOODACRE
Velma Sarah (Colborne) Goodacre, age 85, passed away peacefully at Sumac Lodge, Sarnia on Sunday, December 7, 2008.
Velma is survived by her sons Larry (Mary Lou) Goodacre of Camlachie and Lloyd (Sharron Frye) Goodacre of Sombra and her sisters Genevieve McLaughlin and Maxine Lapier.
Velma was known as “Nanny” amongst her grandchildren Jeff, Ed (Lynn), Mark (Cindy) and Melody (Dave) Dupon and her great grandchildren Nicole, Samantha, Matthew, Corey, Clinton, Paige and Jillian.
Also survived by her daughter-in-law Linda Goodacre of Texas.
Velma is predeceased by her beloved husband Clarence (1986), her brothers Lloyd (Verna) Colborne and Gordon (Katherine) Colborne, sister Vera (Howard) Taylor, brother-in-laws Alvin McLaughlin and Earl Lapier and daughter-in-law Sharon Goodacre.
Velma and Clarence enjoyed many years together raising a family in Point Edward and then retiring in Wilkesport. Velma was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed several years of excellent care by staff and companionship with the residents of Sumac Lodge.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 pm at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, BRIGDEN.
Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday December 10, 2008 at 11:00 am.
Interment Bear Creek Cemetery.
