David Julius Gamble of Oil Springs was born June 12th 1948 in Sarnia, Ontario. The son of the late Mary and Kenneth Gamble, he was the youngest of 3 siblings. He grew up on the family farm in Oil Springs and returned there in retirement, he was 74 years old at the time of his passing.
David graduated Cum Laude from University Of Detroit in 1972. He spent several years working as a journalist in Alberta, after which he moved to Chicago where he sold real estate. David was a world traveler, avid reader and long distance bicycle enthusiast who could often be found riding the country roads of Lambton County.
He is survived by his beloved partner, Carol Francis, his brother Wayne (Marjorie) Gamble and his sister Monica Gentile along with 2 nieces, Gayle Brown and Kathleen ( Jeffrey Zanola) Gentile and 3 nephews, Gregory (Colleen) Gamble, Murray (Marlene) Gamble and Richard (Rose) Gamble as well as 15 great nieces and nephews and 6 great, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and many treasured family members including his brother in law Charles Gentile.
Memorials may be given to Crohns and Colitis Canada. A memorial service will be held Friday the 17th of November, 11am at Saint Michael’s Church in Dresden.
