On Wednesday April 1, 2009, the Gates of Heaven opened, welcoming Walter “Dean” Core, age 89 of Brigden. Dean was the caring and devoted husband of Lorna (Armstrong) for the past 66 years. Together Dean and Lorna farmed at Shilo until 1950 when they came to Brigden and bought the Ford Franchise, selling it in 1974. Loving father of Deanna, Danny (fiancé Janice) and Leona (Graham Seller). Inspirational role model to his 5 grandchildren: Joshua (wife Erin), Jonathan and Eden Seller, Nicholas (fiancé Chantelle) and Ashley (friend Chris) Core. Loved brother of Bill and the late Paul Core. Loving brother-in-law of Cecil and Audrey Armstong and Lecetta Core.

Predeceased by his parents Bill and Alma (Bass) Core and sister-in-law Phyllis Core.

Visitation
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME Brigden on Friday April 3, 2009 from 6 to 9 pm.

Funeral Service
Funeral service will be held on Saturday April 4, 2009 at 11:00 am. Pastor Phil Whetstone of Colonial Woods Missionary Church, Port Huron will be officiating. Interment in Bear Creek Cemetery.
