RANKIN, Donald Kenneth – age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday December 16, 2013 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia. Born March 13, 1927 to Kenneth and Stella (Chrysler) Rankin in Sombra Township. Beloved husband of June (Fournie) for over 61 years. Loving father to Wayne (Bev) Rankin, Jerry (Denise) Rankin, Robert Rankin, Linda (Charlie) Henry. Dear grandpa to Jeff (Carrie) Rankin, Stephanie (Scott) Sawinksi, Amanda Rankin (Zack), Kyle Rankin (Cassie), Greg Henry and Mike Henry. Great-grandpa of Sabrina, Hannah, Maddison, Chloe and Cooper Rankin. Dear brother/brother-in-law to Hazel (late Lloyd) Clysdale, Maurice (Ruby), Ray (Helen), Archie (Dora), Ernie (Carol), Bob (Marie) Rankin, Betty (Harvey) Bell, Joyce (late Ralph) Harrett, Marge (late Jack) McLaughlin, Muriel (Bill) Whale, Doreen (late Bill) McKeegan, Sharon (Alf) Branton, Lois (Delbert) Lorenz. Don leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Don was a faithful man who loved his family, farming and old time fiddle music. He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play their sports and listen to them play their music. He listened to his fiddle tunes to the very end.
VISITATION
Family and friends will be received on Thursday December 19, 2013 2 to 4 and 7-9 pm.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:00am from the funeral home with Rev. George Bell officiating. Interment Mooretown Cemetery.
