Brown picBROWN, David Louis – It is with great sadness that the family of David Louis Brown, husband, father, grandfather and friend, announce his passing at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Monday, April 21, 2025 at age 91. Beloved husband of 53 years to the late Helen Mae (Landon) (2008). Loving father of Dale Osborne and Bob (Brenda) Brown. Cherished grandfather of Joshua and Eli Osbourne (Jamie), Brittany, Corey and Curtis Brown. Great-grandfather of Wilder. Special friend to Noreen Moran. Dear brother of the late Harvey (Ruth) Brown, Bill Brown, Clark Brown and Nancy Brown.  Brother-in-law of John (late Mavis) Landon and Sharon (Ron) Burns. Predecease by his in-laws Josephine (Gordon) Gascoigne, Rosetta (Jim) Garwood, Ted Landon, Joan (Charles) Lapier, Ruth (Tom) Garrant. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Grace (nee Stenton) Brown.

Dave spent 75 years as a skilled bricklayer, was a member of the Bricklayers Local 23, leaving his mark on countless local structures. His work wasn’t just a job – it was a point of pride. He passed along his knowledge to his son and grandsons.

A passionate baseball player into his 80’s and he could be found often at the Courtright Ball Diamond playing or cheering on friends and family. Dave was inducted into the Sarnia Sports Hall Of Fame in 2010.

His love of the outdoors was equally strong, hunting, quading and a proud member of the Island View Hunt Club on Raganooter Lake where he formed life long friendships and shared countless stories and laughs. He will be deeply missed by his fellow club members and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

VISITATION
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPELS, Brigden on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 4-7pm.

FUNERAL SERVICE
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 11:00am from the funeral home. Interment to follow at Moore Union Cemetery, Mooretown.

  5. Our condolences to the Brown Family! Lots of beautiful memories of playing ball with Brownie in Courtright ! He could outrun a lot of the younger players even at 70 years old ! He used to entertain our daughters at the games too. They were 3 and 6 when started bringing the to games . All grown up now ! Our prayers are with you all !

  7. My condolences to the Brown family on Dave’s passing. I will always have many fond memories of playing ball with Dave and Bob in Brigden and Courtright. His knowledge of the game helped all of us to be better players and he was always so much fun to be around!
