ALLINGHAM, William Wilfred – With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, we sadly announce the passing of William Wilfred Allingham on March 29, 2021 at his home. Beloved father of Bonnie (Keith Wyton) Moddejonge, Cherie (Norm) Guthrie, and Philip (Devika) Allingham. Cherished grandfather to Bonnie, Elisabeth and Nicole Guthrie, Marshall Moddejonge, and Eleanor Chelan Allingham. Caring step-father to Scott Woosley and Richard Woosley and former spouse and friend to Dabney Allingham. Predeceased by parents Philip and Winnifred Allingham. Bill was Worthy Patron of Britannia Chapter OES, Past Master of Leopold Lodge No. 397 Masonic Lodge, Brigden, member of Petrolia-Washington Lodge No. 194, member of Sarnia Lodge of Perfection, member of Scottish Rite and life member of Theatre Sarnia. He touched the lives of all who knew him and will be missed by the members of the communities of which he was so proud to be a part.
Visitation
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden, on Monday, April 5, 2021. A Guide to Death Care in Ontario
There is a computer acronym – WYSIWYG – What You See Is What You Get. Bill was WYSIWYG. Bill did not play politics. Bill did not put on airs and graces. Bill was open and honest with you. If you were willing to listen, learn and work hard, Bill would be your friend for life and would put himself out for you. Bill was also a perfectionist in his workmanship. All of us at Theatre Sarnia were in awe of the quality of his work. The normal theatre rule – “It will look OK 15 feet away” – did not apply to Bill. We have known Bill since before 1985 and enjoyed his quiet sense of humour, his dry wit and his firm opinions. Not many like him in the world – more’s the pity.
It is with a profoundly sad heart that I write this condelence. Cherie, Bonnie, Elisabeth, Nicole and Bill’s Family, We are so very sorry for your loss. As I think of Bill, I think of his wicked sense of humour, his perfect oratory work, his sage advice (which he always had) but for me, with me, it was his patience.
He brought Cherie and I together, since which we became fast friends, best friends and that was all because Bill had a plan…for all of us.
Bill touched many lives, and I was blessed that I was one of them. And even more blessed for the ties that now bind us together, forever. Bill will be remembered often, with lots of laughter and great stories to share. His Beans & Fish Fry which my Boys loved SO much, will be missed. They loved working in the Star kitchen with Bill. We all did.
His loss is indelible and it is with deep Sympathy and Prayer that we send this message of Love and condolence to all of you.

Jack & I knew Bill for only a few years, always a thoughtful considerate man. Our sympathy to his family, remember the good times & memories.
I had the pleasure of working with Bill throughout 2020. Bill was a fine upright man, on the level, and treated you fair and square.

Whenever Bill greeted me I was given a strong handshake and a big smile. Both made me feel good for a long time after. I know he deserved the recognition he was given by our Fraternity. And as I chatted with him about Theatre Sarnia, I know he welcomed each new show as a challenge. My sincere condolences to his family.
Bill, will be sadly missed but he will remain in our memories! My sincere sympathy to all his family.

I am so sad to hear of Bill’s passing. He was a wonderful man, Mason, and Star Brother. At the Star dinners, he and I used to joke about whether I was there to see him…or just for his beans. Sending lots of love and hugs!
Bill was a gentleman and fine mason. I remember working with him during Fish Fry fundraisers for the Scottish Rite. He was a nice man and friendly to all. I thoroughly enjoyed his rendition of the final charge during Installations in Craft Lodge. He will be missed. We cherish his memory in our hearts. God speed, Bill.
